Something New – Photos+Video=Photo Fusion!

Filed under Weddings • Written by vjmStudios @ 10:23 pm

As if we haven’t been busy enough this summer (a big thanks to all our clients!), Vicky and I have been experimenting with the video capabilities of our digital cameras. We shoot Canon 5D Mark II’s, which in addition to being an amazing still camera, has the ability to shoot HD video as well. Pocket cameras have had this ability for a long time, but this is cutting edge stuff in the world of digital SLR’s. The photo industry is calling this product “photo fusion” – combining short snippets of video with still photography.

We’ve been shooting a bit of video during some of our weddings and portrait sessions this summer, mostly to figure out how to get quick video snippets without missing anything important (don’t worry – we’re photographers first, and have no plans to become videographers!). Virginia and Adam’s wedding was the first time that we got enough good material to incorporate into our video slideshows – check it out, and let us know what you think!
