What better way to ring in the New Year than with a new beginning!
Liz and Josh were married on New Year’s Eve at Saint John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte. Since sunset is so early this time of year, we set up a “first look” at Talleyrand Park before the evening ceremony. The weather was cooperative (no snow or rain!) and we were able to get some photos of the bride and groom and the wedding party in Talleyrand and in front of the Centre County Courthouse before heading to St. John’s. The church was still beautifully decorated with Poinsettias and lights for the holiday season (a bonus for any holiday wedding), and Woodrings Floral Gardens did an amazing job of adding to the holiday decor! After a beautiful ceremony, Liz and Josh exited the church through a tunnel of sparklers to the waiting limo, and we were off to the reception at the Ramada Conference Center in State College. It was a wonderful night full of family and friends, with the DJ, Justin Hill, keeping the dance floor full, a delicious cake (as usual!) from Delectable Delights by Heather Luse, - and lots of New Year’s Eve party favors They ended the night with a live video feed of the Times Square countdown!
We’ve known Danielle and Tim for a little while now – we photographed Tim’s sister’s wedding and he and Danielle were both in the wedding party. It’s always fun to see so many familiar faces at a wedding! After the ceremony at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte, we headed to Talleyrand Park for some wedding party and newlywed photos – Danielle chose to go barefoot for a while and it made for some fun shots and video. Then it was off to the reception at Toftrees Resort, which was beautifully decorated by Woodrings Floral Gardens. DJ Eric Stoner of Nittany Entertainment kept Tim and everyone else on the dance floor all night!
Katherine and Domenic were married at St. John the Evangelist Church in Bellefonte. The weather was threatening and the bride and groom even brought along red umbrellas, just in case. Luckily it didn’t rain and we got some beautiful photos in Talleyrand Park before heading over to General Potter Farm for the reception. This was our second wedding for the bride’s family that we have had the pleasure to photograph (we photographed her sister Mary’s wedding in 2006). It was a night full of fun, friends and family!
We photograph a lot of engagement sessions in the Spring. April and May have been busy months for our upcoming Summer and Fall 2010 weddings and we even had a couple of sessions for our 2011 season! We’ve photographed on the Penn State campus, Orchard Park, Talleyrand Park, downtown Boalsburg, the Arboretum, and even out of town at the couples’ homes. Here is a favorite engagement photo from some of our 2010 weddings (and a few from our 2011 season )… We hope you enjoy them!
We were really excited when Jake called us and asked us to take his senior photos – we had photographed him before as part of Kennedy Dance Centre’s annual performance. Vicky and I knew he could sing, dance, and perform on stage, but we were still amazed when we walked into his family’s church to start the shoot and found him playing the piano, singing Aerosmith’s “Don’t wanna miss a thing”. We let Jake continue to play while we photographed him from a bunch of different angles, using both studio light and the soft light filtering in through the stained glass windows.
Talleyrand Park was our next stop, and Jake provided us with one of our more memorable shoots – he was full of creative energy, cool poses, and humor. The hardest part for us was simply to keep up and not miss anything! Thanks a million, Jake – we had a blast!
