We had a wonderful time with Lisa and Ken on their wedding day! We went our separate ways before the wedding – Vicky with Lisa at the Inn on the Sky (a beautiful bed and breakfast nestled in scenic Penns Valley), and Jim with Ken at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. After a beautiful ceremony, the newlyweds exited the church to bubbles and took a short trip to the Nittany Lion Shrine and Old Main for some photos before heading to the Mt. Nittany Inn for a small, relaxing reception of close friends and family. The floral design was by Avant Garden and the delicious cake was made by Delectable Delights. There were even special cookies made by Ken and Lisa – Ken and his mom used to make them, and now Ken and Lisa make them together. It was a great day and we are thankful to have been able to share it with so many wonderful people – it was like we were part of the family!
Thanks for having us and congratulations Lisa and Ken!
We first met Amanda and Kyle at Amanda’s sister’s wedding in June of 2010. We were very excited when they asked us to be their photographers, too! We enjoy photographing weddings for siblings, especially because we already know many of the family members and guests at the wedding We met Amanda and Kyle at the Nittany Lion Inn for some getting ready photos before the ceremony at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on the Penn State campus. After an exit to ringing bells, we were off on a campus tour to the Nittany Lion Shrine, Hintz Alumni Center, and Old Main. Then it was off to the reception at the Nittany Lion Inn, which was beautifully decorated by Woodrings Floral Gardens. It was a great reception, highlighted by a custom made “duck hunter” cake and a very interesting take on the garter removal (you’ll have to check out the video slideshow!).
We had an amazing day with Megan and Jamie! After their ceremony at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center we set out on a little campus tour. Our first stop was the Nittany Lion Shrine, followed by Old Main. The animated wedding party and the bright colors they chose made for some vibrant photos! We loved Megan’s blue heels and Jamie’s colored vest, and the beautiful flowers from Woodrings Floral Gardens. After a few shots at Beaver Stadium we were off to the reception at the Days Inn, with DJ Eric Stoner from Nittany Entertainment keeping the night running smoothly and the dance floor hopping. Instead of a large wedding cake, the newlyweds cut their own smaller cake topped with miniature Nittany Lion bride and groom and the guest were treated to a variety of tasty cupcakes from ndulge cupcake boutique. The bridal dance ended with everyone surrounding Megan and Jamie working hard to break through to get to her – we’re glad he finally got in there We were fortunate to be able to capture some video of him sweeping her away (by holding the cameras way up over our heads!) and it made for a great end to the slideshow!
Congratulations Megan and Jamie – thanks for having us!
Janet and Adam were married at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. After a wonderful ceremony officiated by Reverend Eric Shafer, the newlyweds exited to bubbles and a short drive down College Avenue (which made for some great photo ops!). Then we headed on to campus for some shots at the Nittany Lion Shrine and the Hintz Alumni Center. We arrived at the reception at Celebration Hall with time to take a few fun photos outside before the new couple was announced into the reception by DJ Jeff Helffrich. The floral design was by Woodrings Floral Gardens and the cake was from For Heaven Cakes by Tracey Coleman. It was a fun night, with a conga line, limbo, and some great couples dancing down the line!
As a special treat, Janet’s uncle wrote a song for the montage slideshow we put together of favorite wedding day images and video segments. Check it out below!
Congratulations Janet and Adam and thanks for having us as your photographers!
Kristen and Jason were married at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on the Penn State campus with the reception held at the Nittany Lion Inn. We went our separate ways to start the day – Vicky with Kristen and the girls and Jim with Jason and the guys. We met up at the Hintz Alumni Center for a “first look” and some pre-wedding photos of the bride and groom and the wedding party (of course, we also headed over to the Nittany Lion Shrine!). Then it was off to the ceremony at Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, officiated by Jeremiah Kingshipp. The reception at the Nittany Lion Inn was exquisitely decorated by Daniel Vaughn Designs, both inside and outside the ballroom, and The Impact Band kept the dance floor jumping well into the night!
We had a great time at Becky and Matt’s wedding at Toftrees Resort! They were married on the croquet lawn and the reception was held in Le Papillon. After a beautiful late afternoon ceremony, we took a whirlwind tour of the Lion Shrine, Old Main, and Beaver Stadium, before heading back to the reception at Le Papillon. They had a beautiful floral design from Daniel Vaughn Designs and an amazing cake from Delectable Delights by Heather Luse. Nittany Entertainment kept the dance floor full all night and we even had an opportunity to get some beautiful photos by the pond at dusk. A great way to end the day!
Congratulations Becky and Matt – thanks for having us as your photographers! ~Vicky and Jim
Joy and Greg held their wedding and reception at the Arboretum at Penn State. They had a wonderful “first look” at Hintz Alumni Center and took a short campus tour to Old Main and the Nittany Lion Shrine before heading to the Arboretum. Joy and Greg chose to participate in a self-uniting marriage ceremony which was officiated by Penn State President, Graham Spanier (they asked him and he said yes!). Then it was off to the reception, with music from Eric Stoner of Nittany Entertainment, and Christine Hart of Events By Hart keeping things running smoothly. The cake was provided by Cakes for Occasions by Kim Morrison and the floral design was by Woodrings Foral Gardens. Everything was decorated beautifully, with many details designed by Joy and Greg themselves. There was lots of dancing going on, but we were able to take a few minutes away from the reception to get some shots with the beautiful sunset – a great way to end the day!
We had a great time with Amy and Marcus and their families and friends. It was our second wedding for their group of friends, so it was fun to see the whole gang again! Amy and Marcus were married at Pine Hall Lutheran Church, a beautiful church in State College. After an exit to lavender (it smelled great, but it got everywhere!), we loaded into “The Bowen Bus” and headed onto campus for some photos at the Nittany Lion and PSU campus. Then it was off to Toftrees Resort for the reception, with Nittany Entertainment providing great music, and the wedding cake by Delectable Delights by Heather Luse. The wedding and reception were beautifully decorated by Woodrings Floral Gardens. Amy and her dad did a traditional father/daughter dance before breaking into a “not so traditional” one (see the video slideshow for some great pics!). We took a sunset walk and then it was back to non-stop dancing for the rest of the night. What a great way to end a wonderful day – congratulations Amy and Marcus!
Lauren and John were married at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in downtown State College, with Reverend Eric Shafer officiating the ceremony. St. Paul’s is a beautiful church in which to photograph a wedding – natural light, stained glass windows and a wonderful view from the balcony! After the ceremony we headed to the Nittany Lion Shrine and Hintz Alumni Center for some fun shots of the newlyweds and their wedding party. Check out the “peeking” pix below ! Then is was off to the reception at Toftrees Resort, with Toftrees wedding coordinator, Christine Olbrich making sure eveything ran smoothly. There was great entertainment from DJ Jeff Helffrich, a beautiful (and delicious!) cake from Delectable Delights by Heather Luse and Woodrings Floral Gardens did an amazing job with the floral design from ceremony to reception! Thanks for having us as your photographers - Congratulations, Lauren and John!
We had a wonderful time at Gwen and Eric’s wedding! We met them both as they were getting ready at the Nittany Lion Inn (I went with the girls, Jim with the guys). The Molly Trolley provided transportation to the ceremony for Eric and his groomsmen before returning to the Inn for Gwen and her bridesmaids. Then it was off to the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, where Judge David Grine, a close family friend, officiated the ceremony. We took a campus tour to Old Main, Hintz Alumni Center and, of course, the Nittany Lion Shrine before heading back to the Nittany Lion Inn for the reception. The entire wedding from ceremony to reception was beautifully decorated by Avant Garden, providing a romantic atmosphere for the evening. The always entertaining DJ Jeff Helffrich played great music and kept the night running smoothly, as he always does! It was especially fun to see the bride and groom tossed in the air toward the end of the night – check out the photos and slideshow below – they were totally airborne!
Thanks, Gwen and Eric, for letting us be a part of such a great day! Congratulations!!
Vicky and Jim
