Melissa and Jason had a late afternoon ceremony at Eisenhower Chapel on the campus of Penn State University. It was another one of those hot days, so we were glad the sun was lower in the sky for our walk around campus for photos after the ceremony! We visited the Nittany Lion and Hintz Alumni Center before heading off to the reception at the University Club in State College. We even managed to sneak outside for some great shots outside the Club in the beautiful evening light – our favorite time of day!
We photograph quite a few weddings in Eisenhower Chapel on the campus of Penn State University – lots of alumni come back to Penn State to get married. The weather wasn’t supposed to be very nice for Kim and Joe’s wedding there on October 24th, but it turned into a beautiful fall day by the time the ceremony began. Usually the chapel is a difficult place to photograph because it is a bit dark, but the sunlight streaming in the windows made us very happy
After the formals, we headed to the Lion Shrine for a few photos atop the Lion, and then to Old Main. The fall colors on campus were spectacular, the mix of sun and clouds made for perfect photo conditions, and the wedding party was easygoing and fun to photograph!
Our final stop before the reception was Fenske Lab, where Kim and Joe spent way too much time – they are both chemical engineering grads. That’s not our usual type of background for wedding photos, but we’re always up for anything! We even learned what a condensation tube was (okay, we still don’t know what it does or if we even got the name right!!)
The reception was held at Celebration Hall in State College. In anticipation of Kim and Joe’s entrance, the guests were lifted from their seats and encouraged to do the “wave” by the Nittany Lion Mascot (ok, not the real Lion, just a guest dressed in a Lion mascot suit!). The remainder of the evening was just as much fun – lots of eating, drinking, dancing, and celebration. Congrats, Kim and Joe – thanks for choosing us!
Here’s a few favorites from Brooke and Jeff’s wedding! The ceremony was held at Eisenhower Chapel on the Penn State Campus, followed by a reception in Beaver Stadium. The weather cooperated beautifully – a bit of rain before the wedding, then not a drop until we all were safely inside the Presidents Suite atop the stadium. The skies cleared enough for some beautiful sunset shots – all in all, a fantastic day!
