Among other things, butterflies symbolize new beginnings – a perfect symbol for a marriage – and there were butterflies everywhere for Deanne and Joel’s wedding at the Arboretum at Penn State. After a beautiful ceremony, the newlyweds and their families and friends released monarch butterflies to celebrate the occasion. A few even landed on the bouquets so we could get a close-up look – they seem to have enjoyed the flowers from Daniel Vaughn Designs as much as we did! Then the couple and their wedding party hopped into a few classic cars and headed off to Hintz Alumni Center for more photos before the reception at the Ramada Conference Center. The room was beautifully decorated by Daniel Vaughn Designs and the cake from Delectable Delights by Heather Luse was amazing (as usual!)… and it had butterflies on it, too!
Joy and Greg held their wedding and reception at the Arboretum at Penn State. They had a wonderful “first look” at Hintz Alumni Center and took a short campus tour to Old Main and the Nittany Lion Shrine before heading to the Arboretum. Joy and Greg chose to participate in a self-uniting marriage ceremony which was officiated by Penn State President, Graham Spanier (they asked him and he said yes!). Then it was off to the reception, with music from Eric Stoner of Nittany Entertainment, and Christine Hart of Events By Hart keeping things running smoothly. The cake was provided by Cakes for Occasions by Kim Morrison and the floral design was by Woodrings Foral Gardens. Everything was decorated beautifully, with many details designed by Joy and Greg themselves. There was lots of dancing going on, but we were able to take a few minutes away from the reception to get some shots with the beautiful sunset – a great way to end the day!
We photograph a lot of engagement sessions in the Spring. April and May have been busy months for our upcoming Summer and Fall 2010 weddings and we even had a couple of sessions for our 2011 season! We’ve photographed on the Penn State campus, Orchard Park, Talleyrand Park, downtown Boalsburg, the Arboretum, and even out of town at the couples’ homes. Jessica and Jon had the distinction of being first wedding ever held at the Arboretum at Penn State University. We started the day at the Nittany Lion Inn, then took the Molly Trolley to the Arboretum for a late afternoon ceremony. It was a bit cold and windy , so we headed straight for the warmth of the Nittany Lion Inn after the ceremony. They had an amazing band and the party lasted well into the night! Congratulations Jessica and Jon!
